Sarria

So today, I certainly qualified for,the right of Camino passage. Hiked approximately 14 miles in horizontal rain.!

Many of the footpaths just turned into little streams but I pushed on!

Even though I had totally waterproof clothes on, or at least that’s what the manufacturers stated. I got absolutely soaked like a drowned rat!

It was a challenging day, but very rewarding day for completing it.

Myself a German and Australian got lost completely, and that added an extra 3 miles to the hike ! The rain was so hard I couldn’t use my iPhone because it wouldn’t swipe up because it was wet. So we are very limited on pictures today.

According to the weather forecast, the rain is over now for the next five days, which hopefully will see me arriving in Santiago.

There is an influx of new pilgrims into Sarria. It is people who want to hike the last hundred kilometers to Santiago by doing so they can still get a Camino certificate. So unfortunately, there’s going to be a lot more people on the trail as there was today.

They’ll be more pictures and videos tomorrow as the weather should be a lot better.

Approx 2 inch of rain today.
