Hospital De Orbigo

Don’t worry it’s the name of the village !

Today, I encountered my first heavy rainfall as I moved into the Galicia region, which is known for frequent rain at this time of year. Interestingly, some snow is also on the way, which should add another layer of challenge. This was my first chance to test out my rain gear; it was about 50% effective, though any shortcomings were due to how I put it on, rather than the gear itself. I managed about 12 miles today, aligning with my plan, especially given the mountains I will face on my approach to Santiago. Currently, I have about 280 km left from the original 790 km. The charming town I reached is called Hospital de Orbigo, named for the historic hospital established here to serve the pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, known for its picturesque medieval bridge and deep historical significance in the region.
