Today , I set off around 7:30 as the sun was rising. The Napoleon route did not disappoint with the most unbelievable views and elevation gains. Straight out of the gate it was climb for probably the first 13 miles with little respite followed by a rapid descent that gave my knees and thighs as serious workout. The total gain was about 5000 feet and the descent was 3000 feet. The total distance was about 17 miles. I can honestly say that I have never been pushed physically that hard in my entire time on this planet. True realization that turkey mountain ain’t no mountain. Thankful for all of the support in training in getting this far. Tomorrow is setting off for I think another 19 miles but without the elevation. Had very little snow, but the wind was gusting to about 30 miles an hour. Not sure why I can’t notate the photographs, but to be honest, too tired and I don’t really care.😂
Totally exhausted and sore but happy to cross one thing off my bucket list.
