From only seeing 10 to 20 pilgrims a day now I’m literally seeing hundreds. The walk had certainly changed into a very commercial touristy type thing. 95% of the people that I’m seeing this was their first day today and they are trying to walk the last hundred kilometers that is approximately 60 miles, to receive their compestla, so a completely different set of people with different objectives in mind. The crowds and lines for bathrooms and coffee shops reminded me of being at Disney.
It’s funny that I feel like a veteran now and a lot of people were amazed that I had walked from France . A few of the people I met probably didn’t even know where France is 😉
