All in all only about a 10 mile hike today. I can definitely call a it hike and not a walk. I left reasonably early so that I could try to miss the rain which I mostly did. I think the total elevation gain was only about 2000 feet but it was over a very short distance, unfortunately I was right up in the clouds so zero view. The trial was very muddy and covered in horse crap for the pilgrims who do not want to walk up there are horses that will take you to the top. It certainly was tough but nowhere near as tough as my first day over the Napoleon route at Saint Jean Pied de Port. This is a really quaint, historic village at the top of the mountain, and it is in a folklore that the Holy Grail was kept here. ( I think )
Lots of rain tomorrow and still loving every moment and living the dream !
