Santo Domingo de la Calzada

Today hiked 16 miles in 80° temperatures with no shade. Was pretty relentless but also wonderful landscape and colors.

Officially have now completed 1/3 of the hike.

For the first time have a couple of minor blisters so hoping I can keep them under control.

My day typically starts approximately one hour before sunrise and dependent on the distance covered with breaks is between 7 and 9 hours.

I try to wait until the first small village after I leave to get my coffee and baguette.

Then approx 50% through the hike ( based on distance ) I change socks to help with blisters.

Then as I approach my final destination I get myself a large beer and put my feet up and reflect.

I then look for somewhere to sleep if I haven’t already found one online in the morning.
